Definition
- “Flame-retardant”/ “Flame resistance”: understood to be resistant to catching on fire, but level of resistance varies
- Implied meaning: self-extinguishing
- “Flame-retardant” does NOT mean noncombustible
- Risk still present in materials (but lower than in other materials)¹
