Microfluidic devices are able to precisely manipulate sub-nanoliter volumes of fluids with temporal accuracy of milliseconds.  Some of the advantages of microfluidic devices include the reduction in the amount of fluids used and thereby reduction in manufacturing costs and faster device construction time.
