Introduction

The paper presents a method of layer-by-layer deposition of polyelectrolytes to modify the surface wettability of PDMS-based microfluidic devices. The resulting coatings show stable hydrophylicity and hydrophobicity, and allow for high throughput generation of microdroplets or double emulsions.
