Definition
The gecko foot structure consists of lamellae (400-600 um long), setae (2-10 um wide, 100 um long), and spatulae (200 nm wide and long). This structure allows the gecko to adhere to almost any surface. However, the mechanism of adhesion is still an active area of research.
